Lahorgue Advogadas Associadas was created as an all-women firm that welcomes all individuals who are passionate about law, have a solid academic background, capability to solve complex legal challenges, and are keen to learn.

Considering that the Media and Entertainment area is multidisciplinary, our team possesses vast knowledge in many areas of law that are essential to the development of these activities in this important sector of the global economy. This includes constitutional principles of freedom of expression, right to information and to privacy, copyright, aspects of industrial property, civil and criminal consequences for violation of these rights, regulatory law, sports law, labor law, regulation on traditional and digital media, among others.
Our clientele encompasses all sorts of audiovisual production companies, digital platforms, distributors of musical and audiovisual works, social media companies, television networks and pay TV channels, publishing companies, advertising agencies, stakeholders in the sports business and private equity investors of projects involving copyright.

Our experience in this field of law dates long before the discussions about the bill for the Brazilian Data Protection Law (LGPD – Law no. 13.709/2018) began in the Congress, when issues involving this subject matter were still settled solely by the constitutional principle of the right to privacy.
The international experience of our founding partner Simone Lahorgue Nunes (Certified Information Privacy Professional / Europe CIPP – E, Certified Information Privacy Manager – CIPM and Certified Data Protection Officer – CDPO/BR) and the knowledge acquired during her tenure serving as co-chair of the Technology Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) in the bi-annual term 2015/2016, provided our team with a unique opportunity to develop a thorough knowledge of the European framework on this matter and specifically of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which inspired the Brazilian LGPD.
